The Unwinding is an acoustic guitar and vocals duo based in Tampa, Florida. Performing a wide range of musical styles, including classic rock, blues, country, pop and jazz, The Unwinding features the powerful, soulful vocals of Gay Linn Edwards and the dazzling guitar work of Greg Evers, providing a vibrant, yet relaxed vibe to any event.

 

Bios

Gay Linn Edwards

Gay Linn started her career when she was eight years old performing with her Vaudevillian grandfather. Shortly after high school she became Miss Butler County which lead to her winning a talent scholarship in the Miss Kansas Pageant.

From there she progressed into four years of semi-professional musical theater with PCPA Theaterfest in California.

She was also the lead vocalist with The Humanics performing in Central California.

She studied acting in Southern California as an active member of American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA).

She then became the leading actress performing for twelve years with the Renaissance Entertainment Productions in Northern and Southern California. While there she also landed a guest starring role with Hugh Hefner in a family friendly television production.

She now lives in Lutz, Florida and is enjoying performing as the lead vocalist with The Unwinding.

 

Greg Evers

Greg studied guitar privately for 7 years with Duke Michalak in St. Louis, Missouri. Duke was well known in the St. Louis area for his incredible skill as a guitar player and teacher. Duke’s other former students include Peter Mayer (Jimmy Buffet’s Coral Reefer Band) and Richard Fortus (Guns N’ Roses).

Greg was also a member of the instrumental jazz band Danbury Street in St. Louis from 2012 - 2016. Danbury Street frequently performed at Evangeline's, a New Orleans-style restaurant, and can be seen in this locally produced feature for Feast Magazine: Danbury Street.

Greg also played guitar in the R&B band Exit 3 in St. Louis, Missouri from 2003 - 2006.
